ATL stand up. DJ Drama teams with Young Jeezy, T.I., Ludacris, and Future in the video for “We in This Bitch,” the first single off his upcoming album Quality Street Music. The Atlanta rappers perform against different colored backdrops in the Benny Boom-directed clip.
“We gonna do a classic, kinda ‘Flava in Ya Ear’ throwback video,” said Boom. “We wanted to do something epic performance-wise. You got the best in ATL coming together all on one track, so we wanted to make sure that we did things phenomenally.”
Some of the biggest hip-hop and R&B stars in the U.S. traveled Down Under for Supafest 2012, Australia’s largest urban music festival.
A tatted Chris Brown thrilled with his chart-topping hits, Kelly Rowland added some sizzle to the stage, Lupe Fiasco raged in a Bulls jersey, and Big Sean and Trey Songz catered to the ladies during the second day in Sydney.
Diddy and Rick Ross pulled out at the last minute, citing issues with promoters, but hip-hop vets Ice Cube, Ludacris, and Naughty by Nature filled the void.
The four-date festival will also play Melbourne and Perth, and is expected to draw over 100,000 attendees.
ATL’s finest showed up and showed out while shooting the video for DJ Drama’s single “We in This Bitch.” T.I., Ludacris, and Young Jeezy hit the Atlanta set on Tuesday, performing their scenes in a studio. Tip and Jeezy rocked bandanas around their faces and Luda sported shades and a Gucci belt as he typed on his iPhone. Jeezy’s CTE signee Freddie Gibbs also stopped by to make a cameo. Diddy donned a hoodie in remembrance of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old who was shot to death by a neighborhood watch captain in Florida last month. The shooting has sparked a nationwide uproar over race and justice, with even President Obama weighing in.
Thousands of people participated in the Million Hoodies March in cities across the country to seek justice for Martin, who was wearing a hoodie when he was killed.
“I didn’t know wearing a hoodie made me a target,” tweeted the Bad Boy mogul, while Swizz Beatz wrote, “Had to Hoodie up for Trayvon. What a sad situation! Blessing to his fam.”
Many celebrities voiced their support via social media, while Keyshia Cole, Ludacris, Jamie Foxx, Frank Ocean, Nelly, The-Dream, and players from the Miami Heat sported hoodies in a showing of solidarity. See them band together below.
Sparks fly in the steamy video for John Legend’s bedroom banger “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)” off the Think Like a Man soundtrack. The R&B crooner shows a sexier side, flaunting his chiseled body as he gets intimate with his female co-star in bed. Ludacris stops by to deliver his verse, but keeps his clothes on. See this Legend in a whole new light.
John Legend suits up and sets the sultry mood in the video for “Tonight (Best You Ever Had),” his collaboration with Ludacris off the Think Like a Man soundtrack. The TAJ-directed video won’t premiere until Monday, but here’s a teaser to hold you over until then.
Move out the way. Ludacris is coming back this summer. The hip-hop veteran is readying the follow-up to his 2010 album Battle of the Sexes. Production duo Da Internz (“Birthday Cake,” “Dance (A$$)”) have been in the studio crafting records for the Atlanta MC and spilled some exclusive details to Rap-Up TV.
“This Ludaversal album is a statement,” said Tuo, while Kosine added, “This album is crazy. We’re just happy to have a bunch of joints on there. We got a record that I think Chicago’s gonna be real happy when they hear it ’cause it’s like the Chicago sound, a little bit of that juke thang. And then of course we got some of that hood, that “A$$” bass that you love. Da Internz swag is definitely on there.”
The Chicago natives also revealed that they have the first, and possibly second, single off the album, and hinted that it would feature a special guest. “Of course we got the first jumpoff,” said Tuo. “It’s a good look.”
DJ Drama storms the club with ATL’s finest Young Jeezy, T.I., Ludacris, and Future on his latest track “We in This Bitch.” Jeezy kicks off the Kane Beatz banger before Tip spits a “gangsta, gutter, glamorous” verse. Future toasts to the good life on the hook and Luda delivers a blow to his haters before the music fades. “You can hate, you can diss, you can make a wish/ But eight albums and Luda still in this bitch,” he raps.
